The Cultural Committee conducted Denovo 2018 on the 9th of July 2018, Monday at 2pm in the Main Auditorium. The Committee had decorated the quadrangle on the 4th floor of the Central Block with regard to this event. Denovo is a yearly talent search conducted for the first years to provide them a platform to showcase their talents This year, resonating with the spirit of FIFA World Cup 2018, the theme given for this showcase was that of Countries. The students were to depict the respective countries' rich cultures using the medium of dance, music, stand up and the likes. The first and second year classes were allotted Spain, Russia, Mexico, Brazil, Korea, United Kingdom, United States of America, United Arab Emirates.
Our judges for the event were Ms. Lakshmi Menon and Mr. Jonas Monteiro who are theatre artist and music producer respectively and experts in their field. As per schedule, the event began at sharp 2pm. The lamp was lit by Father Benny Thomas, Faculty co-ordinators- Ms. Shilpi Roy Chowdhury and Mr. Avinash Kumar, the Judges- Ms. Laxmi Menon and Mr. Jonas Monteiro, and the student convenor Ms. Clesy Mendonca. Following which the Welcome address was delivered by student Convenor after which the Student Council members  conducted a 15 minute Council induction ceremony for the new Council members.

With that came the end of the formal part of the event. Then began the performances by the students. Each class was allotted 8+2 minutes. We also had Mr. M. Ranjith Kumar from the Department of Professional Studies delivering a talk on the IAS Training Program. At the end of all the performances, there was a 5 minute music performance by the Cultural Committee members while the judges and volunteers calculated the scores to declare the winners. Father Benny Thomas then addressed the gathering.

The Judges were handed over mementos by Father himself as a token of our appreciation and the winners were announced. The winners were the LLM students who were presented with the Prize by Father and Judges. The entire event ended at 4:20 pm.
